Zoom Algebra

version 2.15

To install Zoom Algebra you will need a TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus graphing calculator, and the right TI Connectivity cable for your calculator (It is also called a GraphLink cable or USB cable).

  1. Before you can install Zoom Algebra from your computer, you may need to update your calculator's OS or download the latest version of TI Connect. You can find step-by-step instructions at the following web site (copy and paste the link below to your browser).
  2. http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/nonProductSingle/download.html

Follow the first 3 steps from that page and then return here.

  3. Click here to download "ZoomAlg.8xk" onto your desktop.
  4. Make sure your calculator is on, and connected to your computer via the cable.
  5. On your computer, run TI Connect.
  6. Within TI Connect*, run TI DeviceExplorer. A window should appear: "TI-84 Plus - TI DeviceExplorer."
  7. Drag "ZoomAlg.8xk" from your desktop onto "Flash/Archive." Another window should appear: "Transferring..."
  8. Wait a while. Soon, you should see a progress bar indicating how much longer you'll have to wait, or an error message if something went wrong.
  9. After your computer finishes transferring ZoomAlg onto your calculator, click on the little + sign next to the word "Applications." You should see some Apps listed now, including ZoomAlg.
  10. If everything worked fine so far, then the Demo Version of Zoom Algebra is on your calculator now.
  11. To run Zoom Algebra, press APPS. An alphabetical list of applications will appear. (This will be a very long list on some calculators.) ZoomAlg will be near the bottom of the list. Press to skip to the bottom of the list. Then highlight ZoomAlg and press ENTER.
