Algebra Made Easy
Zoom Algebra was invented by a math teacher who doesn't think you should have to be a rocket scientist to use a graphing calculator. Install Zoom Algebra on your TI-83 Plus or TI-84 Plus graphing calculator (including the TI-84 Plus Silver Edition™ and the TI-84 Plus module for the new TI-Nspire™ handheld), and suddenly your calculator is easy to use! Now you type math problems just the way they look in a textbook. You no longer need to speak Calculator-ese. You will wonder why your calculator wasn't designed this way in the first place!
This is how the same problem will look on your graphing calculator... |

Features of Zoom Algebra
Zoom Algebra comes in three versions. The version that will be present on your calculator is determined by which Registration Key you have purchased and entered, if any.
All versions of Zoom Algebra are allowed on the AP and SAT tests**!
(Download now!)
The first version of Zoom Algebra is the Demonstration Version. When you download the Zoom Algebra file, ZoomAlg.8xk, from our website at no charge, and install it onto your calculator, you will have the Demonstration Version features available. Even if you have upgraded Zoom Algebra on one calculator, when you copy the Zoom Algebra file to a second calculator it will show up as the Demonstration Version on the new calculator. We encourage you to freely copy the Zoom Algebra file as shareware and pass it to friends and classmates for them to try out. The Demonstration Version of Zoom Algebra can:
Combine like terms
Simplify exponential expressions
Distribute and FOIL
Add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions containing variables
Simplify square roots
(Buy now!)
The second version of Zoom Algebra is the Basic Version. When you purchase the Basic Version Registration Key and enter it into Zoom Algebra, you will gain the ability to solve equations. In addition to doing everything that the Demonstration Version can do, the Basic Version of Zoom Algebra can also:
Substitute out known variables
Solve equations for specific variables
Solve systems of linear equations
(Buy now!)
The third version of Zoom Algebra is the Advanced Version. When you purchase the Advanced Version Registration Key and enter it into Zoom Algebra, you will own the most advanced calculator software available anywhere! In addition to doing everything that the Demonstration and Basic Versions can do, the Advanced Version of Zoom Algebra can also:
Add arithmetic sequences
Factor polynomials
Solve complicated fraction problems that involve factoring
Solve quadratic equations
And when you want, the Advanced Version of Zoom Algebra will show the steps of each solution!
"Features" Not in Zoom Algebra
Almost as important as power is ease of use. The easier a device is to learn, the more likely it is to effectively be used today. The more intuitive it is, the more likely it is to be used in the future.
The TI-83 Plus™ Guidebook is 526 pages long, because everything the calculator does is difficult to explain. But the Zoom Algebra manual is only 20 pages long, because Zoom Algebra works just the way you expect. In fact, if you just read the manual's helpful margin tips, you can get started immediately. Later, refer back to the manual if you need more detailed help. If questions come up, you can find answers fast in the Quick Reference chapter. You will be a power algebra expert in no time!
Zoom Algebra can solve many kinds of algebra problems, but it doesn't need to ask what kind of problem you're doing. Just type a problem and Zoom Algebra will figure out what to do. Even if the problem is a mix of several types of problems, Zoom Algebra does the math for you!
Zoom Algebra is so easy to use, you can focus on the math instead of trying to
remember which keys to press. Without Zoom Algebra, to type a³, you need to use the funky ^ key. In Zoom Algebra, just type a then press 3. In Zoom Algebra, you type problems the way they look!
Even when you learn the weird key combinations, what you type will not look much like the problem in your textbook - unless you use Zoom Algebra. In Zoom Algebra, exponents always look like exponents. Fractions look like fractions. Variables are lowercase. Everything looks right on your calculator screen!
With Zoom Algebra Advanced, you won't have to wonder where an answer came from. Just hit TRACE instead of ENTER, and Zoom Algebra will show you the steps as it solves the problem!
It's a No-Brainer!
The last time you did long division without a calculator was fifth grade. You would never try to chop down a tree with your bare hands. Why would you even consider doing algebra the hard way? Supercharge any TI-Plus Series graphing calculator with Zoom Algebra. With a power tool like Zoom Algebra, anyone can do algebra!
